ROSEBANK OPENS WITH TEAMS RACING

Rosebank Speedway Opened for the 2008/09 Season with Solo and Sidecar Teams Racing, The Auckland Solo Team was lead by Sean Mason along with Ben Antunovich,Daniel Hanley, Karl Bagshaw,Chopper Bagshaw and Dean Rudling-Hanley, and the Palmerston North Team was lead by Jade Mudgway who has just returned from racing for Redcar Cubs in England and it was obvious that was a success over there as he won all his five races and set fastest time of the day, also in the team was Jason McKay, Steve Mudgway, James Smith, Brendan Manu and David Bargh.
The Solo Teams event was Sponsored by The Documentary Channel and was won by the Palmerston North Team 46-42.
The Sidecars had a Teams Race Series between the Auckland Side of Leon Patchet/Owen Clark, Clinton Anstiss/Wayne Hooper, Tim Plummer/Steve Krynicki and Clint Malskaitis/Vinnie Mortimer up against a East Coast Team of Glen Murray/Jason Hercock, Cory Cannons/Aaron Anderson, Russell Stuart/Andy Parker and C.Kent/Kelvin Fogarty.
Anstis /Hooper clocked the fastest time of the day and also won the Final to secure the teams racing for the Auckland team beating the East Coast 26-22.
The Sidecars Teams Event was Sponsored by The Rock FM.
There was also Support races for Junior Solos,Solos,Sidecars and Kiwi Kids 1/4 Midgets.
Junior Solos
The Junior Solos turned on some terrific racing on the day with standouts being Devlin Shaw who showed great control of his Bike winning three out of four races and Ryan Terry-Daley winning the other race beating Shaw in that one.
Support Solos
Mark Halls was the Standout in this section but good rides from Michael Patey and Mark Welsh also will create good interest in the section during the season.
Support Sidecars
Peter Lowe/Mr X and Dean Longman/Anne Plummer shared wins in the support Sidecars section and it was great to see so many Sidecars on hand for the Opening Meeting.
Kiwi Kids 1/4 Midgets
The Kiwi Kids had only a small number of cars on hand for this Meeting after some cars had experienced problems at Western Springs Practice the day before but none the less they turned on some close action with great battles between Taylor Clarke and Campbell Christie.Clarke winning three out of four but Christie winning the other race.
