The Redcar TLS/Simpson Racing UK Cubs are pleased to announce the signing of 20 year old Australian rider Aaron Summers as a replacement for Greg Blair. "Aaron contacted me on Sunday evening and a deal was concluded on Tuesday evening," said Jason Pipe, Cubs team manager who continued "He made his UK debut in 2007 when he rode in 2 meetings for Buxton in the CL, which included 19 points from 7 rides at Stoke and he also rode in a couple of meetings for Edinburgh in the PL at the end of last season, finishing ahead of Ex Bear Tomas Suchanek in one race and impressed so much in his brief spell in Britain last year that Edinburgh named him as one of their first riders on their 2008 team sheet."
The Edinburgh Asset has agreed to race for the Cubs in 2008 and will also race for Edinburgh in the PL, whose commitments he must honour first. Unfortunately this results in Aaron missing our away meetings at Plymouth & Scunthorpe, as well as the CL 4TT Finals at Plymouth. Aaron is looking forward to racing for Redcar and knows Scott James and Arlo Bugeja very well since they are also from Adelaide.
Jason added 'I would like to thank the Edinburgh promotion, especially John Campbell for his help and agreement to allow Aaron to show off his skills to the Redcar fans. Signing Aaron has given us a massive boost after losing our number 1, Greg Blair, before the season has even started. I believe Aaron has the ability to be top of the Cubs averages come the end of the 2008 season and the fans should appreciate what a good signing he is once he starts riding for the Cubs. This is an exciting signing for the Cubs."
